The Russian Ministry of Defense has published a video in which you can see how a test pilot of the State Flight Test Center. VP Chkalova (GLITs) is flying on a 5th generation SU-57 fighter (NATO classification "Felon") without a protective flashlight.
The Russian Air Force did not comment on the strange flight technique, but according to Western experts, the video showed part of the practice of actions in a situation of emergency loss of a flashlight, which, although very rarely, still occur. So, in January last year, a flashlight from an F-15 Eagle of the Israeli Air Force was blown off at an altitude of over 9100 meters, as a result of which the pilot was alone with a hurricane wind at a temperature of -45 ° C.
GLITS is based in the Astrakhan region in the city of Akhtubinsk. In addition, its divisions and five test sites are located in several Russian regions - in Moscow, Saratov regions, Kamchatka, Kabardino-Balkaria and Crimea.
