China launches first flying tourist drone network

EHang has partnered with travel firm LN Holdings to expand its hotel portfolio of air tourism services. The LN Garden hotel in the Chinese city of Nansha will be a kind of "testing ground" where this unusual idea will be tested.

On May 9, executives from EHang and LN Group signed an agreement that LN Garden Hotel will create urban infrastructure for drone taxis so hotel guests can take aerial tours and participate in drone shows.

Members of the media attending the signing ceremony were given the opportunity to fly a few short flights around the hotel in a 216 EHang air taxi ahead of an acrobatic drone light show.

The autonomous aircraft 216 EHang has two passenger capsules surrounded by eight rods, each with two rotors. The maximum declared speed of the electric taxi is 130 km / h, and the flight time is 20 minutes.
