Russian nuclear submarines will arm with a new torpedo "Case"

Equipping the Russian nuclear submarine fleet with the latest types of weapons continues. "Case" - such an unusual name was given to the newest torpedo, which will be equipped with nuclear submarines such as "Borey" and "Ash".

"Case" is a modernized continuation of the Fizik torpedo that entered service in 2015, the development of which began 30 years ago at the Morteplotekhnika Design Bureau. This is in the full sense of the underwater "Kuz'kina mother", equipped with a 300-kilogram warhead, which hits the enemy at a distance of up to 50 km, thanks to an improved acoustic guidance system. The "Case" will be capable of delivering the deadly filling to the target at a speed of about 100 km / h from a depth of 400 meters.

At present, the development and testing of the "Case" is being completed on the Kyrgyz mountain lake Issyk-Kul. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and next year the formidable modern military weapons will take their place in the arsenals of our nuclear submarines.
