5 unusual uses for baking soda

You probably have baking soda at home. This is such a cheap product that it is available to literally everyone. Of course, everyone knows that baking soda is used in cooking. But it can also be used in cosmetology - it's cheap and effective.

Dry Shampoo

Tip: Baking soda can be used in place of dry shampoo, it absorbs oil well and cleanses the hair.

How to do it: Take a small handful of baking soda and simply sprinkle it over your hair, especially around the hair roots. The baking soda will absorb excess fat and lard. Beat your hair a little and comb through it thoroughly.

Effect: After the procedure, the hair feels like straw and rough. In addition, they become electrified. So very often you should not use this method, except in extreme cases.

Face mask

Tip: A coconut oil and baking soda mask can help remove impurities and leave your skin feeling smooth.

How to do it: Put two tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl and add a tablespoon of coconut oil. Mix thoroughly until uniform. To soften the butter, you can place it in the microwave for 15 seconds or leave it briefly in a warm place. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Effect: After the procedure, it is felt that the skin on the face is fresh and very clean. It is also very soft, probably from oil. Even the next day, the skin will be incredibly soft and elastic. Well, a mask like this is a good (and cheap) alternative to any other mask bought at the store.

Tip: Using baking soda and water instead of shampoo cleanses your hair well.

How to do it: Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with three tablespoons of water. If you have long hair, double the serving. Dampen your hair with water, then apply the mixture to your hair. Massage the mixture into your scalp for a minute, then rinse your hair. After that, rinse your hair with vinegar (you can use apple cider) to neutralize the baking soda.

Effect: The feeling is rather strange - you wash your hair, but there is no foam. But after such "washing" and drying the hair is really clean. Perhaps not as firm and voluminous as after using regular shampoo, but soft and silky. The only drawback is the smell of apple cider vinegar, which is quite persistent.

Tanning remover

Tip: Baking soda is ideal for getting rid of orange hands.

How to do it: Mix a spoonful of baking soda with a little water to a paste. Then apply the paste to your hands and rub for two minutes. Wash your hands with soap and water and your tan should be gone! Fake tanning on legs / knees / elbows / etc. can be removed in the same way.

Effect: Excellent.

Teeth whitening

Tip: Brushing your teeth with baking soda will whiten your teeth and freshen your breath.

How to do it: Wet your toothbrush and dip it in baking soda. Brush your teeth for three minutes. Then rinse your mouth out.

Effect: After brushing, the teeth become cleaner, and the feeling of cleanliness lasts about 12 hours. But the taste of baking soda in your mouth is just disgusting. And for sensitive gums, such cleaning is painful.

Blackhead removal

Tip: When applied to acne, baking soda can help reduce inflammation and unclog pores.

How to do it: Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with a little water to a paste. Using an ear stick, apply the mixture to the pimple, let it sit for 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.

Effect: Magic. After applying and rinsing the baking soda paste, the pimple is reduced in size, redness disappears, and pain disappears. The next morning, the pimple is almost invisible.
