It is interesting that on October 14 in different countries of the world World Egg Day is celebrated. This is a holiday for all those who love egg dishes, omelets, various fried eggs and other dishes with "egg" ingredients. Until recently, the largest egg was considered to have been laid by a chicken named Harriet. The size of this egg was 23 centimeters in diameter, 11.5 centimeters in length, and weighed just over 163 grams, which is 3 times the size of a typical average egg. Chicken owner Tony Barbuti, 64, from Eastwood, Essex, UK, is very proud of his record-breaking chicken.
However, recently there was information from the Georgian Union for World Achievements and Travel, which sent to London, in the Guinness Book of Records, materials about a huge hen's egg, which was laid by a hen in the Zestafon district in the family of a local resident Murman Modebadze. As it turned out, the size of this giant egg is larger than previously stated. It weighs 170 grams, length - 82 mm, width - 62 mm. According to the members of the commission, this egg is the largest in the world in terms of weight and size. Currently, the "record holder" is being held in Georgia in proper conditions.
